While it has a conventional protagonist, one of the most disturbing things about it is Nightmare is that the story doesn’t resolve in the way you might expect, and it suggests that we’re all living in Freddy’s world and just waiting for him to show up and hunt us down.

While this kind of Hut in the woods While the story is incredibly familiar, director Sam Raimi takes the violence and jokes to a new level, transforming a film that starts off terrifying into something that will have you thinking of Looney Tunes cartoons by the time the credits roll.

A brilliant twist on the limitations of the slasher film, In a violent nature takes the perspective of the main assassin, rather than the teenagers who accidentally brought him back to life and were ultimately slaughtered by him.
While the murders themselves are particularly gruesome here, what really makes it special is In a violent nature so fascinating is the way the whole thing starts to seem much more mundane once you’re disconnected from the perspective of the victims being slaughtered. It’s a brilliant reminder that a film like Halloween is only a few degrees separated from something like John Wick.
